| I honestly believe that the Turks should really start to think about the semi-presidential system like in Finland instead of US presidential system. What is the semi-presidential system? Lets see.The semi-presidential system: is a system of government that features both a prime minister and a president who are active participants in the day to day functioning of government. It differs from the presidential system in that it has a popularly elected president who is not a ceremonial figurehead and it differs from the parliamentary system in that it has an executive prime minister who has some responsibility to the legislature. How the powers between president and prime minister are divided can vary greatly between countries. For example, in France the president is responsible for foreign policy and the prime minister for domestic policy. In this case, the division of power between the prime minister and the president is not explicitly stated in the constitution, but has evolved as a political convention. In contrast, while Finland employs a system effectively copied from France, this division of power is explicitly stated in the constitution: "the foreign policy is led by the president in cooperation with the cabinet". |

| I don't get it. What's the deal with presidency system? It's hardly different from constitutional monarchy. Parliamentary republic is, definitely, better. (Direct democracy is the best, of course.) Alıntı:

It is not an anti-democratic system, as you elect your government and parliement seperately. Therefore, in the states where there is presidency system, forces are really seperated unlike the parliement systems. So it is far more democratic and stable. Alıntı:

| actually I am new here at this discussion forum but I can see that this forum is definetely very good and very serious than other turkish forums. So i hope to see more members discussing here. For presidency system I think monarchy was better than the existing sytem. You would think that I am wrong but as you could see up to date we have many problems to apply democracy and human rights. Because every free person wants to realise their ideas so it creates problems sometimes... on this side it would be better to bare ones laws as it was in the monarchy ![]() il_bilge Tarafından düzenlenmiştir. | That's an interesting idea indeed.. I really want to know why you think it is more necessary to have "monarchy" in our country? Whenever a country have problems with democracy and human rights, it is not the correct solution to give up the right course of humanity and turn into darkness. And also, what the most important thing is what kind of monarchy you wish.. I mean, absolute monarchy? Or, self-proclaimed monarchy? Actual de facto monarchies? Then here we go: dynasties, de facto successions, real kingmakers, family dictatorship... Is this exactly what you miss? __________________
