Accession Talks with Turkey

It seems that a few countries in EU don't want Turkey to join this club, and I think it's a delay and refusal game which the countries play about the date of the negotiations. How will it result in?

This issue has kept Turkey going for more than 40 years.

Turkey was never turned down outright but the EU made it clear that massive political and economic reforms would be needed before entry could be considered.

Even they gave a chance to join the Eu as a promise at the Helsinki summit (1999), nevertheless no date was set for beginning of negotiations on entry.

The questions of whether Turkey is really "European" or the costs and benefits of Turkey's full membership will also be heard even Turkey is completely accepted...

Because Turkey's membership is one of most debated enlargements in the history of EU...

i think, which is my personal ideas, EU has never been happy to see the Turkey as a member for years. if you think clearly you will understand that they have valid reasons. For about 600 years, our government, our empire had victories, battles over Europe and in every opputunity, Our empire tried to attack europe by starting with the first step eliminating the istanbul. after that our empire had many attacks, battles and catch many christians soldier and we have hundreds of battles with them. we were a nightmare for them. So i do not think that their ideas had changed. They are still thinking that The Turks are dangerous and even they have anger with us.

I do not think they will led us for joining to this club. They are just teasing and winning time to keep more benefit from our goverment.
