Well, when you look at the caption, yes I'm talking about one of the greatest tragedies in the whole world: HAMLET written by William Shakespeare... What I want to ask is whether Hamlet was a mad person or not, I mean in terms of insanity/sanity how would you evaluate the situation of Prince of Denmark. I'd really like to know your ideas and opinions.

Hi, I would like to interperet this issue but before that I need much more explanation since as far as I know, Hamlet is a hero who just pretends as if he is mad but infact he isn't, he just acts to take the attention of his wife. Because she is just after romantic issues while he considers about thoughts. But don't maybe I can't understand the analogy between Hamlet and prience of Danimark? Could you explain? thank you

Although I know that you're not here and cannot provide a reply, I want to give some fundamental information about this issue. (also for those who are interested) First of all, Hamlet is not married, as a consequence of this he doesn't have "a wife". There is Ophelia, who we think loves Hamlet and vice versa and who goes insane after the death of Polonius (the father of Leartes and Ophelia), however they are not married. And there is no woman around Hamlet except for Ophelia and Gertrude (the Queen and Hamlet's mother). Secondly; yes he may be accepted as a "hero" in a way. He is the protagonist of this incredible tragedy. And other issues... Hamlet is the Prince of Denmark in this play by William Shakespeare. We come across huge problematic issues concerning his life; a weird way of losing a father, a celebration of marriage just after the funeral of the King (his father), and the ghostly appearance of his father trying to reveal the hidden truth... He has to find a way to work things out. This issue was one of my profoundly-searched article subjects and I'd like to give more and more information about this. But not now... However, I must point out the most significant phenomenon in this play. We have the "reveal and revenge" issue here. Who are getting married? -> His mother and his uncle Who makes Hamlet suspicious of his uncle? -> His father's ghost Who is the so-called murderer? -> His uncle What he has to do -> to reveal the truth and take revenge of his father's death. This is the summary but the details and specifications of the play make it perfect. I'll talk about it more... İl_bilge
