I'm not really sure how the Turkish government is set up. here are a couple questions. What type of democracy do you have? Do you have a type of constitution and what are your listed rights? When do you vote for your leaders? Is it hard to study abroad in Turkey and are there any work restrictions? What is the most popular political party?

We have a constitution which was edited several times, but with the latest EU process of Turkey, it has almost met the European criterias. It's now acknowledged that, international laws are above our constitution. Normally once in 5 years there are elections, yet generally we have elections once in 3,5 - 4,5 years. I don't think it is hard to study here, there are lots of foreigner students in Turkey and they are mostly contented to be here. Now our most popular party seems AKP (Justice and Developement Party) whose Leader is Recep Tayyip Erdogan - Current Prime Minister - This party supports Turkey to join to the EU and made many reforms with respect to improvements in democracy in the last 3 years. But it is a conservative party also and supports the values of so-called Modern-Islam to be kept. __________________

international laws are above our constitution. I find that very scary. I personally dont like the idea of someone dictating my laws that isnt even a member of my country. I'm curious about studying in turkey. What are the best colleges to go to study there?

| It seems that you are interested in Turkey more than the normal American people. So what about them? What is the public opinion about Turkey? Are we seen as Europeans or Middle-Easterns? Do Americans see us as a democratic country? Are we percieved as terrorists as the majority are musim? __________________

People were i live havent really made an interest in turkey or anywhere for that matter where i live.As far as my personal view i see Turkey as kinda like european muslims Or modern muslims.I live in a rural area where people have lived most of there lives and dont care to go and see much else. :/ As far as the Turk bows go they are the most advanced wooden bows you can get along with a mongol type. They are recurve bows and are very beautifuly made.Traditional archery in my opinion is good for concentration as well as to use your instincts. Whats the break up of religions among the population in Turkey? like muslim 85% christian 10% jew 5% etc.

Well domestic politics most are concerned with but as far as world politics i think not. Although its just my opinion. People here watch to much entertainment television and blindly follow the politicians on both sides (democrates and republicans) its turning our country to junk in my opinion. I think learning real information is much more important than just entertainment t.v. You can get a better grasp on issue's rather than celebrity gossap and trash from musictv. As the world moves forward i see our sense of disipline, honesty and values move backwards. Thats not limited for the U.S.A though its the whole world. Thats why i come here to get some real engaging thoughts from people like you ![]()
